Have you ever felt disappointed after a massage, a haircut, or a professional cuddle? Does getting good service feel like rolling the dice to you? You’re not alone. I’ve been there!

My first few introductions to massage had been s painful, it led me to incorrectly conclude that massages were not for me.

I also remember always bouncing from one hairstylist to another, never seeing the same one twice because I would often leave slightly disappointed with my hair.

All that could have been remedied with simple requests for less pressure, the ability to ask for what I want, and give feedback when I didn’t.

Being a client takes skills, and it took me a lot of practice to finally learn how to make those services work for me.

A Good Client vs. Skilled Client

Most every client I see wants to be a good client. They want to follow the rules, and do cuddling “right”.

“Is this what I’m supposed to do?” or “Do other people do this too?” they ask.

This is often driven by wanting to make sure that I have a good experience of them. While I appreciate the thoughtfulness, this isn’t what I mean by being a skilled client. In fact, it’s quite the opposite.

A skilled client knows that the session is for them, and is less concerned about the provider’s experience, and more focused on how they can get the best experience as the paying customer.

What do Skilled Clients Do Differently?

In this video, I share 8 things a skill client does differently:
(To skip the introduction, start at 4:11)

Here’s the Cliff Notes version. A skilled client:

1) Is aware of their expectations, wants & needs
2) Is thoughtful when choosing service provider
3) Educates themselves and ask questions
4) Is able to adjust service provided
5) Trusts the practitioner’s expertise and can let go and let in
6) Is comfortable with client/practitioner relationship
7) Knows how and when to schedule future sessions
8) Knows how/when to terminate the service

Skilled clients know that the session is for them and are empowered to act on their own behalf.

What if I don’t have these skills?

Do you have a to be a skilled client before you get your first professional cuddle?

Absolutely not!

We all start somewhere. I’m still working on these myself and only became much more skilled because of patient service providers who taught me how to have a successful experience. They allowed me to be the authority in my sessions. They empowered me to speak up by checking in and create lots of room for my honest feedback. I learned through their guidance how to best use my time with them.

Your Professional Cuddler Can Show You The Ropes

As professional cuddlers, we will (literally and figuratively) hold your hand through the process of being a new client or attendee.

Know that we are here for you. We are aware of how challenging it is to be experiencing things for the first time. You can trust our experience. We’re happy to take the lead if that’s what you’re most comfortable with, all the while making room for you to experiment and adjust so that you get exactly what you’re looking for.

All it takes is for you to believe that you can have what you want.
