In this video I introduce the Mama Bear position. (It also can be called the Papa Bear.) The reason I use the phrase “mama” or “papa” is that it can feel very maternal or paternal to have an embrace like this one. At our workshops in Los Angeles, this position has become a favorite.
What I personally love about this position is that I can express a loving, caring part of myself without having to actually be a parent! This is really handy because I don’t feel called to have kids and yet do have a nurturing side. What do you think? Do you agree that it’s an advanced pose? Is this one you’d like to try?
I am proud to be a frequent “papa bear”. 🙂
There are a lot of “baby bears” at Cuddle Sanctuary who can attest to your “papa bear” skillz!
