Certification Qualifications: “A+7C” Model
The “A + 7C” Model is the method that helps Cuddle Sanctuary decide whether we can certify a student as an event leader. Read on to see what we’re looking for.
Attendance – Mandatory
You must attend all classroom hours to qualify for certification. If you have to miss a class, you’ll need to make it up by reviewing the recording of that missed class within seven days. In order to be certified, you may not miss more than two classes.
Code of Ethics – Mandatory
You’ll need to agree to and sign the Code of Ethics.
Connection – Mandatory
It’s crucial that event guests feel seen and appreciated. Being able to connect with those that you lead is important enough for us to make it mandatory for certification.
Confidence
Confidence is an important element of event leadership. You’ll have the chance to build your confidence throughout the training with opportunities to role play and practice.
Content
You’ll need to complete the Leadership Guide for Cuddle Events online course before class begins and do the assigned homework in between classes. That – plus the practice sessions during class – will help you develop a thorough understanding of and familiarity with the content of this program.
Clarity
Do your guests understand your instructions and what to do next? Our classroom sessions will allow time to troubleshoot any issues in this area. The homework will provide opportunities to improve.
Container
Are you able to keep track of time, the environment, and the group’s needs? You’ll discover your strengths and growth opportunities when you lead your first event between Week 4 and Week 5 of the course. Then you’ll have the chance to refine your skills during your post-training practice events.
Completion of Cuddle Events – Mandatory
Besides the cuddle event that you’ll lead between Week 4 and Week 5, you’ll be required to set up and complete two more events after the training is over. This will give you valuable experience and feedback.
How Are Students “Graded”?
Cuddle Sanctuary uses a Green/Yellow method to evaluate your work. Green means Good Enough for Certification. (It can also mean Great!) Yellow means that this is an area that we suggest you work on.
You’ve probably noticed that several elements listed above are “mandatory.” Of the items that are not mandatory, you can still be certified with one Yellow. We’ll contact you after the five week course is complete to let you know your Green/Yellow status.
If you don’t get certified, you can request to return for a future training and try again. (As a courtesy, former students get 50% off of tuition.)
