Let’s Start at the Beginning
I’m Jean Franzblau – the Founder of Cuddle Sanctuary in Los Angeles. My team and I have offered hundreds of in-person events and one-on-one services since opening our doors in 2014. May I share a bit about how the heck I became a “professional cuddler”?
I found this work when I realized on a business trip that my loneliness wasn’t cured by a hook up. In fact, the hook up I thought I so desperately needed made me feel even more lonely. I had no idea that I had a human need for nonsexual affection such as simply holding hands or sharing a hug.
After One Event, I Wanted More
Once I finally found a cuddle group, I was amazed how much better I felt. (I didn’t even know about the health benefits at the time.) With my corporate background teaching communication skills, I was inspired to share the experience of cuddling with more people. So I started Cuddle Sanctuary. Being immersed in this community, I found myself smiling more. I felt more happy and whole.
As you can imagine, the public has been curious about all of this so we’ve been featured on BuzzFeed, Dr. Phil, LA Times, Rolling Stone and more.
An Abrupt Halt
And then pandemic. In March, I stopped working one-on-one with clients and canceled Cuddle Sanctuary’s weekly social events. As the months went by I noticed an uptick of requests on our YouTube channel asking that we post more videos of cuddle sessions. I think people are seeking comfort and want to observe kindness. I don’t blame them. Especially now. I want to help!

I’m offering a few free cuddle sessions in exchange for the right to record and broadcast the session on places like Facebook, YouTube, etc. It’s a chance for you to get some tender loving care while providing a soothing viewing experience for others.
- I’m offering a few virtual cuddle sessions for people in any location.
- I’m also offering a few in-person cuddle sessions for risk-aware people who live near Los Angeles and are willing to follow careful pandemic hygiene protocols for two weeks.
